Raining Rose, Inc. (PPAI 232508, S7) has acquired a new warehouse property in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where the supplier is based. It plans to transition its warehouse from a current leased location to the new 198,884 square-foot facility on 34.59 acres, and will maintain its manufacturing headquarters at 100 30th St. Drive SE.

Raining Rose, Inc. employs more than 300 employees in the Cedar Rapids area through its contract manufacturing division and its promotional product supplier division, Raining Rose Promos, and the purchase is the latest step in its operational growth. In 2012, the company consolidated three facilities into one 127,000 square-foot property, and in 2019 it completed a $2.5 million expansion to its production and blending capabilities. With expansion opportunities limited near company headquarters, Raining Rose opted for the new offsite warehouse space.

“We have been leasing external warehouse space to support our growth since 2015,” says Chuck Hammond, CEO of Raining Rose. “This property came available at the right time, and makes good sense for our future, both financially and strategically.”

The site has a long history for Cedar Rapids. Most recently, Color Web Printers produced the Cedar Rapids Gazette, along with several other publications, there with a 442-ton Goss press. In the 1920s, the acreage was the site of Hunter Field, the first airport in Cedar Rapids.
