Maine’s SHAREcenter Benefits Big From Peter Geiger’s Generosity

Peter Geiger, vice chairman of the board of Geiger (PPAI 105182, Platinum), has joined forces with his Lewiston, Maine-based company to back the SHAREcenter, a nonprofit organization committed to salvaging and repurposing resources. Geiger has personally contributed $50,000 and supported the organization with in-kind donations and volunteer hours, while the company consistently supports the cause with annual donations totaling nearly 150 pallets of goods.

  • The SHAREcenter caters to schools, nonprofits and select for-profit entities through a membership initiative. Members have access to donated and repurposed items to complement their needs such as arts and crafts supplies, office essentials, classroom resources, cleaning products, personal hygiene items, new attire, school supplies and STEAM materials. Moreover, SHAREcenter redirects office, classroom and household furniture, as well as housewares and various other items, diverting them from landfills and distributing them to Maine residents in need.

“I am proud to support SHAREcenter and its important work,” says Geiger. “SHAREcenter is a vital resource for our community, and it plays a critical role in reducing waste and supporting our environment and economy. I am confident that SHAREcenter will continue its growth, making a positive impact on our community and would encourage other businesses and business owners to consider supporting this important community non-profit.”

Lisa Rodrigues, executive director of SHAREcenter, adds, “We are so thankful for this generous donation from Peter Geiger. Peter’s gift has helped us expand our reach and impact while continuing to provide valuable resources to our members. We are committed to reducing waste while supporting Maine’s education and economy. Peter and Geiger’s backing is fundamental to advancing our mission.”
