The promo industry spent some time near the beach this month. The Caribbean Advertising Specialties Association (CASA) held its Spring Show last week in San Juan, Puerto Rico, bringing together suppliers, distributors and end buyers.

CASA’s show ran two days at the Embassy Suites, with the second day open to distributors’ invited clients. The show’s programming, along with the trade show, included networking opportunities, education sessions, a guided history tour of the local area and a cocktail party.

PPAI President and CEO Dale Denham, MAS+, also attended the CASA Spring Show, presenting education sessions on both days.

  • Denham’s first session was only for PPAI’s members and focused on the Association’s recent membership restructuring. The session was part of what the Regional Relations Committee has termed the “Great PPAI Roadshow” as PPAI leadership has traveled the country speaking with members and answering questions about the changes.
  • The following day, Denham presented to end buyers on the power of promotional products and, separately, demystifying artificial intelligence and its impact on the industry.

“I enjoyed my time connecting with suppliers, distributors and buyers at the show,” says Denham. “It was also a uniquely designed end buyer event – they had specific groups of buyers stay with their distributor contact and there were preset times to visit each booth by each group. It was very well received by the buyers, and Silvia [González, CAS, the CASA past president and director who organized the event] put on an excellent show.”
