Through May 7, PPAI is accepting submissions for its annual Pyramid Awards, which honor creative excellence in the promotional products industry and recognize dependable suppliers, outstanding promotions, creative campaigns and exceptional craftsmanship by its members. To highlight and learn from 2021 Pyramid Award winners, PPB Newslink is speaking with them to learn more about what it means to secure a PPAI Pyramid win. This installment features National City, California, supplier A+ Wine Design and its Gold Award in the supplier/distributor collaboration category for its submission, “Etched EVIL wine bottle & kitting services.”

A+ Wine Designs’ client commissioned a Halloween-themed wine bottle with special packaging to celebrate the new EVIL television show. The bottle was sand-carved, painted with PMS-matched enamel paint and hand-painted with gold glitter. The final touches included placement of the EVIL wine bottle and chocolate “eyeballs” in a white tuck box with orange crinkle paper, before being gift-wrapped in black paper with an orange organza bow. Kirsten Elliot, with A+ Wine Design, says, “We look forward to participating in the Pyramid Awards every year. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase the creative projects we’ve done and highlight the skills of our team. It’s great to be recognized for hard work by your peers.”

Elliot adds, “The categories that we chose to submit projects for changes every year. I like to review each and every category to see what projects come to mind. I also try and keep the Pyramid Awards in the back of my mind all year long. When we have a really unique project, I will jot it down and then when it’s time for submission, find a category that the project falls in.”

The 2021 Pyramid Awards weren’t the first time A+ Wine Design participated in the awards program. Elliot says, “We use the Pyramid Awards as bragging rights. The awards show that we have been recognized for everything that we preach. They are proof that we are No.1 in the industry for etched wine.”
