Sample16b_VOM-400x[5][10]PPAI has named Peter Zeiger, MAS, director of recruiting and sales partner development at distributor Geiger as February’s PPB Volunteer of the Month. The Association’s PPB Volunteer of the Month recognition celebrates individuals who have dedicated their time to the progress and fulfilling the charge of a committee, advisory group, work group or task force on which they serve.

Zeiger serves on the Government Relations Advisory Council (GRAC) and was nominated by Seth Barnett, PPAI’s manager of diversity development and engagement.

“Peter has continued to thrive since joining GRAC over a year ago and continues to challenge others in the group to advance themselves,” says Barnett. “He is always eager to be involved and completes tasks with efficiency. Further, Peter is extremely valuable to those of us at PPAI who work with him. When developing new challenges, he wants to be involved and participate in any way he can.”

GRAC assists PPAI and the regional associations influencing legislation and regulations affecting the promotional products industry. PPAI is taking the industry’s message to Capitol Hill on May 25-26 with the 2016 Legislative Education and Action Day (L.E.A.D.). L.E.A.D. brings industry professionals to Washington D.C. to educate members of Congress about the effectiveness of promotional products and the strength of the industry in the U.S.

PPAI has also unrolled L.E.A.D. Local events that take the industry’s message to state legislators around the country. During these one-day events, PPAI staff join industry leaders and regional associations to speak with state legislators about the promotional products industry. L.E.A.D. Local was held in New York on February 24 and will visit Minnesota on April 5.

“Peter is passionate in the tasks he is asked to perform,” Barnett adds. “He has developed into a leader in the legislative advocacy world based on his passion for this content area. He continuously contributes to any and all projects that GRAC creates. He is one that inspires others to contribute. When developing the L.E.A.D. program each year, Peter is quick to discuss any potential challenges with the GRAC group or with PPAI staff one on one and is able to define lists of conclusions. He is always available for new ideas that will help engage and activate our members through legislative involvement.”

PPAI is looking for the next PPB Volunteer of the month. The Association is looking for someone who:

  • Is a current member of a committee, task force or advisory group

  • Demonstrates an exemplary level of volunteer contribution

  • Is a positive example to others

  • Contributes in a constructive and positive way to volunteer activities

  • Collaborates well with others

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the topics and work

  • Presents a positive influence during interaction with a group

Nominations may be submitted by current members of a committee, advisory group, work group or task force, as well as by PPAI board members or PPAI current staff Those selected for inclusion as PPB Volunteer of the Month will be announced and featured in PPB Newslink as well as the quarterly volunteer newsletter.
