PPAI Women’s Leadership Conference Attendees Share Their Experiences, Appreciation

On July 28-30, PPAI held its 10th annual Women’s Leadership Conference (WLC) in Denver, Colorado. The event drew 120 women, including 46 first-time attendees, from suppliers, distributors, rep companies and business service firms across the U.S. and Canada. Delivering The Product Safety Message

In June, PPAI Director of Public Affairs Anne Lardner-Stone joined the Georgia Association of Promotional Products Professionals (GAPPP) and the Carolinas Association of Advertising and Marketing Professionals (CAAMP) in Greenville, South Carolina, for a joint conference on product safety awareness. Lardner-Stone and Product Responsibility Manager Tim Brown, MAS, have scheduled a number of meetings with regional associations and industry companies this year to speak on product safety and bring them up to Product Safety Aware status, a requirement for industry companies who want to access the PPAI marketplace through trade-show exhibit space, sponsorships and advertising. Remembering Dean Mathews

In June, Dean Mathews, past president of former industry distributor Shedd-Brown, Inc. and a PPAI Hall of Fame inductee, passed away at his home in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He was 93. The L.E.A.D. Experience

In April, more than 70 industry volunteers from 30 U.S. states traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with senators, congressional representatives and their legislative staffs on Capitol Hill to advocate on behalf of the industry as part of PPAI’s Legislative Education and Action Day (L.E.A.D.). The volunteers conducted approximately 250 meetings to discuss current legislative issues affecting the industry, to spread the word about the effectiveness of promotional products and build ongoing relationships with their elected officials and provided opportunities.
