Jay Donlin To Leave Newton Manufacturing

Newton, Iowa-based distributor Newton Manufacturing (UPIC: NEWTON) has announced that Jay Donlin, executive vice president of sales and marketing, has chosen to pursue a career outside of the promotional products industry. His last day at the company will be December 14.

“We very much appreciate Jay’s dedicated efforts over the past 3½ years,” says Mancil Laidig, Newton Manufacturing’s president. “He has made a valuable contribution to the company and we wish him well as he pursues a new career with his family’s business in Minnesota.”

Donlin, a 20-year veteran of the promotional products industry, has worked as a multi-line representative, supplier and distributor. During his career, he also served as president of the Promotional Products Association of Chicago and president of the Recognition Council, a strategic industry group of the Incentive Marketing Association.

Donlin is leaving to take over a pump manufacturing business started by his uncle that has applications in pest control, lawn care, pressure sprayers and washers. “Having an opportunity to have a stake in a company that’s been in my family—I’m truly blessed,” Donlin told PPB Newslink. “I’ll leave behind lots of Donlins in the industry, though: my brother, Tom, is at Ad Images; Steve operates our multi-line rep company that our dad started in 1977 and my sister, Cheryl Dixon, is at Crystal D.

“Working with Newton Manufacturing has been a great experience and I am grateful for the opportunity,” he adds. “Leaving behind great friendships with employees, representatives and industry associates makes this decision a difficult one. I have been truly blessed to a part of this fine industry.”
