PPB Newslink Breaking News May 25: Jon Pierce And Dana Zezzo, CAS, Named PPAI RAC Volunteers Of The Year

The PPAI RAC Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes the accomplishments of regional association members who have shown exceptional levels of volunteerism and leadership, and have made significant, measurable contributions to their associations. For 2012, the Regional Association Council (RAC) and PPAI have named two enthusiastic advocates who have taken their involvement and commitment to the next level—Jon Pierce and Dana Zezzo, CAS.

Jon Pierce, owner of Specialty Marketing Group NW, Inc. (UPIC: smgnw) in Milwaukee, Oregon, has tirelessly worked to support and grow the promotional products industry and its regional associations. He has been an active member of the Promotional Marketing Association of Northern California (PMANC), the Northwest Promotional Marketing Association (NWPMA) and RAC, serving on both regional associations’ boards—including service as NWPMA president in 2006 and 2007, and PMANC president in 2011—and as a RAC Delegate in 2005, 2006 and 2009. Pierce played an instrumental role in redeveloping the PMANC’s Showcase tradeshow and returning the association to stability.

Dana Zezzo, CAS, chief marketing officer at Gaffney, South Carolina-based supplier Jetline (UPIC: jetline), is an active and outspoken member of the industry, and has proven himself a dedicated member of the Three Rivers Advertising Specialty Association (TRASA). Zezzo served on the association’s board from 2003 to 2007 holding a number of roles in the organization including a term as president in 2005-2006. He also played a key role in the association’s PPAI Pyramid Award-winning Operation Buy TRASA campaign, which encouraged member distributors to buy from TRASA member suppliers first, when possible.

Pierce and Zezzo will be recognized at the Opening Night Celebration on June 20 in Grapevine, Texas, during the PPAI RAC Leadership Week. Learn more about Pierce, Zezzo and the PPAI RAC Volunteer of the Year Award in Tuesday’s PPB Newslink.
