The PPAI Pyramid Awards Highlight Distributors' Best Programs And Campaigns
The PPAI Pyramid Awards recognize the outstanding, creative use of promotional products in the client programs and campaigns of distributor members and industry regional associations. The awards celebrate distributors' and regional associations’ accomplishments in 15 different categories. Entries are now accepted through July 31, 2016.
Dayton, Ohio, distributor Shumsky was a 2016 Gold Pyramid winner in the Consumer Programs category for its development of a season ticket package for the minor league Dayton Dragons baseball team. The category highlights programs to improve sales, or introduce products, programs or services specifically to consumers.
In November 2014, Shumsky designed the season ticket package to help generate buzz for upcoming season. It targeted approximately 5,500 of the team’s season ticket holders during the 2014-2015 baseball season. The package mimicked a Wheaties cereal box, using the Dragons mascot, Heater, on the front and labeled “Heaties.” Inside was a cereal sample, season tickets and owner’s manual and a custom promotional keychain “free prize.” Information on the team and season was worked into the design of the box, including the opening date, the team’s social media icons, alumni players, puzzles and quizzes.
Ultimately, the campaign helped spur a 92-percent retention rate among season ticket holders, with the program delivered within budget and on time.
Industry professionals, companies and regional associations who take home the Pyramid Award’s coveted trophy bring home not only the recognition and appreciation of their peers, but also a unique calling card in the competitive promotional products marketplace. Their creativity and ingenuity is honored each year at an awards presentation and reception held during The PPAI Expo.
Award entries are judged by a panel of outside experts and members of the Awards & Recognition Action Group. Judges look for organized planning of the concept, effective execution, the appropriate and creative application of promotional products and messaging, and solid results.
