Distributor Barker Specialty (PPAI 102001, D10) is stepping up to support its local food pantry in Cheshire, Connecticut, and area businesses. The company has designed and produced t-shirts for sale through a popular local business, Main Street Café, to raise funds for the Cheshire Food Pantry.

Speaking to The Cheshire Herald, Barker Specialty Account Executive and Senior Marketing Manager Chelsea Fishman says, “Barker Specialty loves the Cheshire Food Pantry and we are always looking for ways to help them out and give back to the community. We wanted to remind people that we are here and that we support the Pantry during this crisis.”

Barker Specialty has designed red t-shirts, one of Cheshire’s town colors, with the words “Social Distancing. (If you’re reading this you’re too close)” on the front and on the back, a large warning symbol above the phrase “Stay 6 Feet Back.” The shirts are being sold at Main Street Café with 100 percent of proceeds going to the food pantry.

The Herald reports that as of Saturday, Main Street Café had sold half of its inventory of shirts, and that Barker Specialty may produce more based on the fundraiser’s reception.
