Fridays at work always feel … well … special. People are slightly more relaxed and there's a sense of "we all made it through another week."

At my office, we make Fridays extra special with a "Homeroom" kickoff. We bring everyone together for brief company updates and recognition of any new co-workers. And we end our Homerooms with a cheer: "One for all ... and all for one." It's a 30-minute break from the desk that sets the end of the week apart from other days.

So what can you do this Friday to put a bit of exuberance in your office routine? Promotional Consultant Today shares these Friday ideas.

1. Decorate the workplace. Have a themed Friday. Maybe it's Show Your Team Spirit where you decorate your work space and dress up to support your favorite sports team or an official or even silly holiday.

2. Install a basketball hoop in the parking lot and start a tournament for employees during the lunch break.

3. Organized goofing around can foster team spirit and increase creativity. Contests like relay races in office chairs and team Nerf gun fights help break up a workday and allow everyone to bring a renewed spirit to their work.

4. Build a Wall of Fame. Decorate it with awards, thank-you notes from clients, news clippings of your company's successes, and so on.

5. Plan a service day. Get everyone out of the office for a couple of hours to support the community by cleaning up a playground, working at a shelter or volunteering for another good cause.

6. Take candid photos of employees at work and hang the pictures on a bulletin board. Or better yet, bring in a photo booth for the day. Provide plenty of fun props. Then encourage teams and co-workers to stop by for some photo fun.

7. Have a meeting that's not business related. Have personal development sessions on subjects like time management or even plan a meeting completely off the wall like giving juggling lessons to all your employees.

8. Send out a riddle by email. The first person to answer the riddle correctly receives a small gift valued at $5 or less. Give out fun gifts such as a Slinky, Play-Doh and other nostalgic toys.

9. Pump up the team with tunes. At Microsoft's offices, they blast music at three o'clock when everyone's energy is starting to slump: Some people get up and dance, and everyone claps when the song is over.

10. Have a team vs. team lip sync contest. Pick your favorite tune and battle other teams for the "win." You could even invite a couple of your best customers to serve as judges for this battle of the air bands.

11. Form a "Funatics" committee to brainstorm ways to bring some fun to Friday workdays. Make sure the committee consists of representatives from a wide range of departments.

Make it a great Friday. PCT returns to your inbox on Monday.
