Consumer sentiment showed a sharp uptick following the 2016 election, reports the University of Michigan (U-M) Surveys of Consumers. The post-election Sentiment Index was 8.2 points above the November pre-election reading, producing an index 6.6 points higher for the entire month. Cimpress, the Dutch parent company of Waltham, Massachusetts, distributor Vistaprint (PPAI 565755), has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire San Diego, California-based distributor National Pen Co. Pantone has named PANTONE shade 15-0343, Greenery, its 2017 Color Of The Year. The Fair Labor Standards Act’s (FLSA) new overtime requirements, set to go into effect on December 1, raise the salary amounts employees need to be paid to qualify as exempt, increasing the minimum salary threshold from the current level of $455 per week to $913.
