PPAI, SAGE Staff Meet With Representative’s Staff During August Recess

On Tuesday, SAGE Director of Information Services Dana Floyd, along with her husband John Porter and PPAI Government Relations Manager Joseph Landeros met with Matt Garcia, chief of staff of Rep. Pete Sessions at the congressman’s office as part of the Association’s August Recess Advocacy initiative.

Congress’ August recess is an opportunity for industry members to meet with legislators and their staff to share with them the impact and importance of the promotional products industry not just nationwide, but in their own backyard. During their meeting at Rep. Sessions’ office, Floyd, Porter and Landeros brought up a number of issues with Garcia, including new overtime rules from the Department of Labor, independent contractors and the power of promotional products.

The Congressional August recess is an official calendar break that offers the perfect opportunity to sit down and share with elected officials the importance of the promotional products industry and PPAI’s August Recess Advocacy page offers all the tools necessary to plan and execute meetings or factory tours.
