Terra Thread (PPAI 799548), a Mission Viejo, California-based supplier that produces bags using certified Fair Trade organic cotton in a certified Fair Trade factory, in line with the Global Organic Textile Standard, has surpassed the one million meals-donated milestone with domestic hunger-relief organization Feeding America. Terra Thread has been supporting Feeding America since 2019.

As Terra Thread donates a portion of each sale to Feeding America, the pandemic made progress in 2020 a challenge. However, the company reports that sales surged in 2021 and subsequently so did its contributions. A few weeks into 2022, it has already exceeded 77,000 meals donated with the goal of exceeding one million meals donated this year.

A statement from the company notes, “It is clear that the current trend for our industry, and indeed for the planet, is towards sustainability, both as environmental and social responsibility. Terra Thread hopes to be the leader in bringing that message to our industry.”

Speaking on Feeding America and his larger goals, Vik Giri, the company’s founder, said, “Partnering with Feeding America allows us to personally impact people receiving meals. It is something I am proud to do. It’s amazing that $1 can help provide 10 meals. Even if $5 is donated, it can make a big impact. I hope to inspire change in the lives of all. Uplifting people is meaningful to me in a special way. It is our hope to inspire others to make a change too.”
