S&S Activewear (PPAI 256121) is expanding into Reno, Nevada, adding an 800,000 square-foot warehouse facility. The new distribution center, which will be the largest of the supplier’s fulfilment centers across the U.S., is expected to open in first quarter 2019. It joins centers in Illinois, Georgia, Kansas, New Jersey, California and Texas.

The Bolingbrook, Illinois-based company’s Reno facility will be three times larger than its Santa Fe Springs, California, building and the largest lease of its kind in Nevada state history. The current California warehouse, which is slated to close in second quarter 2019, will be consolidated into the new facility. S&S will be relocating its California call center operations to Tempe, Arizona, in the same time frame.

The supplier expects the new warehouse to make room for a broader SKU offering and deeper inventory position, and to allow S&S to expand its service offering to a broader region. The Reno location will allow S&S to reach a majority of the West Coast with one-day ship times, while deepening its two-day coverage across the southwest and mountain states.
