Supplier S & S Activewear (UPIC: SSAC8463) has announced plans for a new distribution center in Olathe, Kansas. The 473,000-square-foot facility is expected to bring 200 jobs to the Kansas City suburb.

Olathe will be S & S Activewear’s fourth location, joining the company’s Bolingbrook, Illinois headquarters and its additional facilities in Santa Fe Springs, California and Robbinsville, New Jersey. Opening in the spring of 2016, the shipping and receiving facility will expand the company’s one-day ground shipping transit area to include Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, North Texas and part of Colorado.

“The additional Midwest warehouse puts us at over 1.5 million square feet of inventory, with a big portion of that inventory in the most accessible region of the country. It will give our customers a larger overnight delivery area with later cut-off times,” says Margaret Crow, director of marketing. “It will also have a positive impact on our service level in Bolingbrook by shifting some of that volume to Kansas City. We’re always working to improve our shipping speed and accuracy and this is an important step in that direction.”
