Prime Line (PPAI 112744), the hard goods division of alphabroder (PPAI 156993), has sponsored Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Project for the third consecutive year, an initiative that which doles out turkeys, bags of Thanksgiving fixings and winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves to 3,200 low income and families in need in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

“The Great Thanksgiving Event is an amazing opportunity for Prime to partner with The Bridgeport Rescue Mission. We honor the mission year-round, as they extend kindness on a daily basis to our local community,” says Maria Koppy, vice president of organizational development for Prime Line. “In addition to donating items, our employees appreciate the cherished hands-on volunteer experience they take away from this event. Our goal is to create an awareness within our company, to serve others and to support important causes.”

Distribution for the Thanksgiving project took place over six days, November 14-20, at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, where Prime is headquartered. Prime donated 5,000 tote bags and several employees were onsite helping in a variety of ways, including handing out food and helping guests shop for coats. David Bennett was one of Prime’s volunteers. He says, “I had a very good time and once again feel validated in joining the Prime family. It feels great to work in a place that routinely gives back to its community.”

Prime Line has supported the Bridgeport Rescue Mission since 2014 with ongoing donations of blankets, bags, hats and hot cocoa. Bridgeport Rescue Mission Executive Director Terry Wilcox says, “We are grateful for caring companies like Prime Line who are committed to serving our community and ensuring that no need goes unmet this Thanksgiving.”
