PPAI Updates Its Certification Program Transcript

PPAI has introduced a new look and feel for its certification transcripts to provide greater efficiency and a more user-friendly experience. The transcripts are used to track progress for an individual working to earn the Certified Advertising Specialty (CAS) and Master Advertising Specialty (MAS) designations, and the Trained Advertising Specialist (TAS) certificate.

Changes to the program include the addition of a TAS transcript, and new TAS- and CAS-required courses and elective requirements.

Also, in the online transcript, previous credits accumulated for a previously earned designation have been relocated to keep the individual focused on the current certification in progress. All previous credits and certifications can be found in the “Total Transcript” in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

The transcript will also now prominently list the date when a CAS or MAS was earned and when it needs to be renewed, and will also feature a progress bar to show how many credits are needed to earn or renew a certification.

It is too hard to find certificate applications. All certificate applications, TAS, CAS, MAS, should be in one easy to find location. Ideally in the transcript link. It's silly how hard it is to find applications.

I am renewing my MAS - do the 25 certification points need to be from MAS accredited classes or can they be from CAS also?

How is it that I am no longer eligible to test for the CAS? I was last year and I have way more hours than the required minimum (Including required coursework) That does not appear to be listed sense you moved the data base. Very frustrated after all of the courses I've completed over the years.

Do you still do a certificate for the TAS certification? If so, how do I access that?

Tom - Congratulations on earning your TAS this past February. From looking at your transcript I can see you have one course that is part of the new CAS dedicated course series. You would need to go in and take the quiz for that course. We would recommend reviewing the course before starting the short quiz as a refresher. If you have taken more of the courses that are listed on the dedicated course track there is an option to apply for the Fast Track for CAS. Details about that option can be found at https://www.ppai.org/members/certification/ If you have additional questions please email the Professional Development Team at PPAI at certification@ppai.org

What happens to my current TAS status (I earned it in February of this year) and the courses I've taken towards the CAS? Will I need to re-watch all the CAS videos and take the tests?
