PCNA’s Pittsburgh and Miami facilities have joined the Pittsburgh-headquartered supplier’s Charlotte location in earning Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-Of-Custody certification. FSC certification traces the path of FSC-certified products from forests through the supply chain, verifying that FSC-certified material is identified or kept separated from non-certified material.

PCNA (PPAI 113079, S15) offers more than 20 products that include FSC-certified material, with more to be introduced throughout 2022.

“The Forest Stewardship Council is the world’s most trusted organization for sustainable forest management,” says Liz Haesler, PCNA chief merchandising officer. “We’re doing our part to ensure that from the forest through processing, manufacturing, and distribution, our FSC-certified products are being tracked and best practices are being followed. When our distributor partners buy our FSC-certified products, they can trust those products are from responsibly managed forests.”

PCNA highlights the FSC designation as part of its approach to environmental and social responsibility. The company also has a partnership with 1% For the Planet. Through it, 1% percent of all eco-product sales are donated to a pair of nonprofits: One Tree Planted, which is committed to global reforestation, and Well Aware, which builds clean water systems in Africa.

PCNA is also taking measures to reduce energy consumption, reduce waste on the production floor and increase recycling programs.

“While we continue to focus on offering our distributor partners the best assortment of eco-friendly and sustainable products, we’ve also evolved our thinking as an organization,” says Neil Ringel, CEO of Polyconcept, parent company to PCNA. “Sustainability has become a key component of every business decision we make."
