Orbus Recycles 87 Percent Of 2019 Waste

In 2019, Orbus Exhibit & Display Group (PPAI 428128, S7) diverted 87 percent of its total waste from landfills by recycling aluminum, plastic, fabric and cardboard, cores and paper. The Woodridge, Illinois-based supplier has two full-time team members dedicated to labor associated with the recycling efforts and several dedicated to the management of the recycling program with two full dock bays allocated to recyclable material sorting and distribution.

“Every year, it gets harder and harder to recycle plastic—the worldwide demand is way down,” says Jim Concannon, operations manager and ISO rep. “Despite this difficulty, the Orbus team did a tremendous job in 2019 and surpassed its environmental goals. Orbus is proud of this achievement and looks forward to continued growth within its environmental management program.”

Orbus received its ISO 14001:2015 certification in 2017 and has since recycled more than 1,444 tons of cardboard, cores and paper; 944 tons of fabric; 468 tons of plastic and 253 tons of aluminum.
