The Michigan Promotional Professionals Association (MiPPA) recently put together several days of education and advocacy for industry professionals in the state. PPAI Director of Public Affairs Anne Stone, CAE, joined the association to support its efforts during the events, held on March 4-6.

On March 4, 21 professionals gathered in Livonia for Product Safety Aware training. The four hours of training covered everything from the basics to Prop 65, undue influence training and a discussion on finding out more and additional sources of solid information.

On March 5, MiPPA delivered its fifth annual Legislative Education Action Day (LEAD) in the state capitol of Lansing. About 50 state representatives, state senators and their staff personnel attended the breakfast in the Mackinac Room of the Anderson House of Representatives Building. MiPPA served up breakfast and a brief presentation on the industry presence and size in the state. Executive Director Paul Kiewiet, MAS+, and Stone explained how extensive the industry’s reach is throughout the state.

Product Safety Aware training came to Grand Rapids on the west side of the state on March 6. The Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park hosted 20 industry professionals for the four-hour course.
