Ralph McCall Abercrombie III, merchandising manager at Gainesville, Virginia, supplier Atlantic Coast Cotton, passed away on December 23 at Virginia Hospital Center. He was 62.

Abercrombie had been with Atlantic Coast Cotton for 32 years. Outside of the office, he was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church, enjoyed fishing on his Bass Tracker and spending time with his home, gardens and koi pond. He was an author, an authority on WWI and WWIIGerman medals and awards and a member of the Gentleman’s Military Interest Club. Hi was also an accomplished model-maker.

Preceded in death by his father, Abercrombie is survived by his wife Kathleen, son and daughter Jesse and Tracy Abercrombie, mother Joanne Abercrombie, brothers Jeff and Jim Abercrombie and sister Anne Abercrombie.

Services for Abercrombie were held at Richland Baptist Church in Hartwood, Virginia, and internment at the church cemetery.
