The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) will spend three days in Guangzhou and Shanghai, China on September 11-13 to educate and train the promotional products industry’s manufacturing partners on U.S. regulations.

CPSC staff will present a free forum and training for prospective and participating laboratories in the CPSC’s Third Party Testing Program on conformity assessment of children’s products, from 8 am to 5 pm on September 11 in Guangzhou.

In cooperation with the European Commission, CPSC will present “Design for Safety: Preventing Mechanical Hazards for Designers and Manufacturers,” a training seminar on designing consumer products to prevent mechanical hazards, from 8 am to 5 pm on September 12. The program is aimed at aimed at designers, manufacturers and testing professionals.

The location and registration for the Guangzhou events will be announced soon.

On September 13, CPSC staff will conduct a training session on mattress and furniture safety requirements at the China International Furniture Fair at the National Exhibition & Convention Center in Shanghai. The session will focus on designing, testing and manufacturing mattresses and furniture that meet fire and chemical safety regulations, as well as children’s furniture products.
