California’s Senate Bill 162 would prohibit licensed cannabis businesses from using promotional items to market their products.

The bill, authored by California state Sen. Ben Allen, would “prohibit medical cannabis and non-medical marijuana licensees from advertising or using branded merchandise,” according to the bill. This measure passed unanimously through the state Senate and now awaits action by the state Assembly.

PPAI is joining California promotional products businesses and regional associations in opposing any limitations on the use of promotional products to market or promote business activities that are permitted by law, and asks California residents to encourage their state Assembly member to vote no on California SB 162.
