Supplier Beacon Promotions, Inc. (UPIC: BEACONP) of New Ulm, Minnesota, recently took part in a fundraiser for United Way.

The week-long event began with a presentation from United Way representatives about CADA (Committee Against Domestic Abuse) House and the services it offers, and the supplier held numerous events for Beacon employees to get involved and make donations, including a penny war—a coin collection challenge in which 11 teams participated and raised $474—a silent auction and bake sale, as well as monetary pledges. Fifty-seven employees contributed to the United Way through payroll deductions in 2015. Overall, the company’s donations were $5,636.

The United Way supports numerous programs—primarily in education, health, self-sufficiency and basic needs—in Brown County, where Beacon Promotions is located. These include CADA House, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, scouting programs, school supply backpack programs, a day of caring to help residents with household projects and sports camps
