Woodinville, Washington-based distributor Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, LLC (PPAI 109381), has acquired SwervePoint (PPAI 336283), a Boston-based promotional merchandise firm. With the acquisition, BDA significantly expands its Boston operations and extends service offerings for both company clients.

“Over the past decade, SwervePoint has established itself as an industry innovator focused on amazing customer service. Early on, we identified them as a potential acquisition partner due to business acumen and their client-first partnership philosophy that aligns perfectly with BDA,” says Jay Deutsch, co-founder and CEO of BDA, in a news release issued late Wednesday.

“This acquisition provides us with the opportunity to continue our growth trajectory while integrating additional resources to better support our East Coast clients. The Boston area now represents our largest East Coast office presence and will provide a strategic hub from which to broaden our footprint across the Northeast. From our partnership with the Boston Red Sox to our existing clients we currently serve, we are proud to further ingrain BDA into the great city of Boston.”

Deutsch has confirmed with PPB Newslink that SwervePoint will be rebranded as BDA and SwervePoint co-founders Jamie Mair and Kevin Phoenix have joined the BDA team to ensure a seamless transition. They will retain crucial senior leadership roles serving clients to enhance the company’s overall growth and will continue to run all the SwervePoint offices.

In a statement, Mair says, “For years, we have seen firsthand the innovation and industry-leading work coming from BDA. Our clients are going to benefit from the buying power, creativity, and global services expertise BDA is known for. This is the perfect fit at the perfect time. Joining BDA allows us to expand our relevance within our existing clients, while now being able to offer BDA’s gold-standard capabilities. Kevin and I, and our entire team, are very excited and honored to become part of the BDA family.”

Deutsch says, “We are excited to add the tremendous leadership and dedication of Jamie and Kevin to the BDA family. They are talented professionals who have built a super team around them. This is both a great cultural and strategic fit for both companies, which is extremely important.”

The acquisition is not expected to bring any changes to industry suppliers serving the companies. “Suppliers will still experience the same level of interaction with SwervePoint now that it has become part of BDA,” he says.

The acquisition is the latest in BDA’s strategic expansion efforts in the U.S., Europe and overseas markets. The distributor has offices throughout the U.S. and in China, and recently opened support offices in London and Manila.

“BDA is in the midst of a growth year and this acquisition will further expand our focus on hyper-growth in 2018 and beyond,” adds Deutsch.

BDA provides a marketing agency approach to branded merchandise for companies such as AT&T, Bank of America, Dell, Johnson & Johnson, ExxonMobil, FedEx and Major League Baseball. SwervePoint, founded in 2004, brings a boutique approach to a diverse portfolio of clients in the financial, insurance, technology and professional services industries. It has network offices across the globe.
