Amy Weisman has joined PPAI in the role of account coordinator in the Association’s business development department. In her role, Weisman will balance a number of wide-ranging responsibilities, from managing the advertising process for PPAI Media’s digital and print publications to processing contracts, booth placements and materials for tradeshows and events and much more.

A fairly recent (but happily converted) Texan, Weisman moved to North Texas in 2016 from Eugene, Oregon where she had worked at the vision machinery company Ventek International for 11 years. Since that time, she has filled business administration roles at Sally Beauty’s corporate headquarters, the University of North Texas and, most recently, at Veritas Roofing.

Her background in event planning, customer service and logistics made her a perfect fit for the account coordinator position at PPAI.

“The position here at PPAI was a great mix of many pieces from my previous work history and many new exciting responsibilities,” says Weisman, who knew the role was right for her once she met the PPAI staff and her team. “The stability of the team is very impressive and says a lot about the organization.”

Being new to the industry, Weisman is taking the time to learn on the fly while incorporating her own experience to help the Association grow. The PPAI Expo 2023 is just around the corner in January, with preparation well underway, and Weisman is already immersed in daily and monthly marketing projects.

“My initial objectives are to learn the PPAI systems and utilize my knowledge to be an asset in assisting in those areas and any other day-to-day tasks to make this busy time easier on the team,” Weisman says.

Weisman lives in Fort Worth. When she’s away from work, she loves to be with her family as well as spend time outside. In the late summer and early fall seasons she is tending to her garden. “I just put my earphones in and can spend hours out there,” she says. As the weather starts to become more pleasant, she’s likely to lace up her running shoes. Weisman usually runs a handful of organized 5k, 10k and 15k events every year.
