In news that industry professionals hope is a positive bellwether for promotional products as a whole, annual revenues at 4imprint Group PLC, parent of Oshkosh, Wisconsin-based distributor 4imprint (PPAI 107200, D16), rose sharply over the past year. In a trading update ahead of the release of its finals results for the fiscal year ending January 1, 2022, the company reported revenues for the 2021 financial year of approximately $787 million, a 41% increase over 2020.

“Even as challenges remain regarding the supply chain, inflationary pressures and the lingering effects of the pandemic, our performance in 2021 further demonstrates the flexibility and resilience of our business model,” the company stated in its trading update release. “The board is very pleased with the group’s progress in 2021 and is confident that the qualities embodied in our brand continue to resonate with our customers.”

Compared against 2019, the last “normal” year, 2021’s total order count was registered at 90%. 4imprint cites this as a sign of a strong recovery over the past year. Order growth at the distributor may have improved over the course of 2021. Looking back at the financials results it published for the first half of last year, 2021’s first six months registered a total order count 79 percent of 2019’s—616,000 total orders processed by July 3, 2021, compared to 778,000 processed during the same period in 2019.

4imprint reports that it is in a good financial position entering 2022. The trading update listed an unaudited net cash balance at the 2021 year-end of $41.6 million, compared to $39.8 million at the end of 2020.
