Q: Over the past year, what extra actions have you taken to strengthen your company’s culture and keep employees engaged, motivated and happy at work?

Peter Tu, Director, AnyPromo

“Being away from each other during the pandemic was very challenging because we are such a close-knit group. In an effort to keep those connections and relationships going, we put forth a concentrated effort to emulate some of the things we did while in the office. We also knew that connection and collaboration were vital elements to the health of our organization. We put together a task force (the Culture Committee) to take on the challenge. The committee goal was not only to make our organization better overall but really focusing on making sure our employees were engaged and looked forward to returning to the office. While working remotely, the committee hosted virtual games so that colleagues from different teams could interact with each other. Most importantly, the committee surveyed and performed one-on-one meetings to really understand the changes our staff was experiencing in their lives, and their needs moving forward, which ultimately resulted in our hybrid work-from-home program. Fast-forwarding a little, the committee hosted a coffee bar with sweet treats and multiple events during our first week back in the office. It’s one thing to have everyone back and amongst each other, but it’s a whole other level to see and feel the excitement and happy faces. The best part is the committee and our organization have only just begun their journey to becoming a ‘best place to work’ and we look forward to what the future holds.”
