Former President Ronald Reagan first declared June as National Zoo and Aquarium Month in 1982. Since then, the month has been a time dedicated to celebrating how these facilities contribute to wildlife and marine life conservation and research.

June is also an ideal time for zoos and aquariums to connect with the community and inspire families and schools to come observe and learn about various animals. The Association of Zoos & Aquariums reports that the average medium-sized zoo has about 168 different species and the average medium-sized aquarium has about 394 different species.

This June, talk to your local zoos and aquariums about using promotional products to drive membership or promote conservation efforts. Logoed items also make great additions to gift shops. Keep reading this issue of Promotional Consultant Today for some ideas for National Zoo and Aquarium Month.
