PPAI’s Paul Bellantone Joins TRASA’s Annual Membership Meeting
In 2012, PPAI President and CEO Paul Bellantone, CAE, visited with regional associations and industry companies across the country to learn more about them and their views of the industry, and share updates on PPAI and its perspectives on the business. His final visit of the year was to the Three Rivers Advertising Specialty Association’s (TRASA) annual membership meeting in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. PPAI Hosts New Director Orientation For The Association’s Board Class Of 2017
In December, PPAI headquarters welcomed the new Board Class of 2017. New board members Tom Goos, president of Image Source, Inc. (UPIC: IMAGESCE); Kim Newell, president of World Wide Lines, Inc. (UPIC: WORLDWID); and Tom Carpenter, MAS, national sales manager of Scarborough Specialties, Inc. (UPIC: SCARSPEC), were in town for a three-day New Director Orientation to learn about board and volunteer roles and responsibilities, PPAI governance structure, the strategic plan and budgets. PPAI Staff Members Stop Shaving For ‘Movember’
This past November, men around the world took part in “Movember,” an annual event in which participants grew mustaches to raise awareness about prostate cancer, men’s health and related charities. Norwood & BIC Graphic North America Hosts Congressional Staff Visit
Norwood & BIC Graphic North America hosted a visit from Brad Stine, legislative director for Florida Congressman C.W. Bill Young, at its Clearwater headquarters on October 30. The supplier has taken an active role in support of PPAI’s Legislative outreach initiative. PPAI’s Laura McKinney, CAE, Joins UMAPP Summit
PPAI Senior Manager of Regional Relations Laura McKinney, CAE, joined the Upper Midwest Association of Promotional Professionals (UMAPP) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during its daylong summit this past November. McKinney led a session focusing on board responsibilities, including identifying the association’s top priorities, reviewing its mission statement and revisiting the strategic plan it had developed in 2011. Corine Wofford, CEO of WOW Promotions & Consulting (UPIC: W532540) in San Antonio, Texas, visited PPAI’s headquarters in November to meet with PPAI Executive Vice President Bob McLean and Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) Foundation Manager Sara Besly to discuss the memorial scholarship the PPEF is setting up in memory of her father, the late Gene Cesario, MAS. PPAI Employees Step Up In Support Of Breast Cancer Awareness
PPAI employees turned out big in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Through a “Jeans Day” fundraiser, employees raised $1,037.50 in charitable contributions and took part in a number of walks and events. The Association’s 2012 figure represents an almost two-fold growth from its 2011 giving of $665, as three members of staff have been personally affectedby the disease, bringing its effects and costs into sharp focus.
