The Value Of Education

PPAI is offering an extensive lineup of Product Safety Awareness program courses at The PPAI Expo 2015, both as part of the show’s education schedule and on the show floor for exhibitors. The program is designed to foster an industry-wide commitment and culture where companies are not only aware of product safety, but engaged in the discussion, and it requires every member company wanting to gain access to the PPAI marketplace—as a sponsor, advertiser, trade-show exhibitor, etc.—to complete a minimum of four hours of product safety education no later than the start of Expo East 2015 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Lessons From A Labor Dispute

The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) spent much of 2014 in protracted negotiations over labor contracts at West Coast ports. PPAI joined 103 other organizations in a letter sent to the ILWU and PMA, the mayors of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and the executive directors at both ports, calling for the two sides to come to an agreement. PPAI Women’s Leadership Conference Attendees Share Their Experiences, Appreciation

On July 28-30, PPAI held its 10th annual Women’s Leadership Conference (WLC) in Denver, Colorado. The event drew 120 women, including 46 first-time attendees, from suppliers, distributors, rep companies and business service firms across the U.S. and Canada. Delivering The Product Safety Message

In June, PPAI Director of Public Affairs Anne Lardner-Stone joined the Georgia Association of Promotional Products Professionals (GAPPP) and the Carolinas Association of Advertising and Marketing Professionals (CAAMP) in Greenville, South Carolina, for a joint conference on product safety awareness. Lardner-Stone and Product Responsibility Manager Tim Brown, MAS, have scheduled a number of meetings with regional associations and industry companies this year to speak on product safety and bring them up to Product Safety Aware status, a requirement for industry companies who want to access the PPAI marketplace through trade-show exhibit space, sponsorships and advertising.
