Five Minutes With Christopher DeLorenzo, Lead Designer For Johnny Cupcakes

Don’t expect clothing company Johnny Cupcakes, Inc. to cure a sugar craving—the only confections this brand offers are its “sweet” imprinted t-shirts and kitschy, bakery-style décor. Since 2001, the company has sold logoed apparel and accessories that cleverly riff on familiar logos by replacing elements of the designs with cupcakes. Four years ago, Christopher DeLorenzo took over as lead designer for the Boston, Massachusetts-based company following a stint at New York’s Saatchi and Saatchi X marketing agency. In his free time, DeLorenzo is also a talented illustrator and print maker who teaches a Skillshare.com course on custom printing t-shirts.
