In today’s world, promotional professionals are working harder than ever to meet deadlines and satisfy customer needs while dodging problems and overcoming challenges. If you’re lucky, you’ve found a service superhero who goes above and beyond what’s expected—and makes you look like a star.

Help PPB identify those who deliver top customer service—in your company or a vendor company—even if the person is not working in a typical “customer service” role. Salespeople, owners, managers—they too can demonstrate exemplary customer service.

If you know a Service Superhero who proves over and over again that service does still exist, nominate them by September 5. If your nominee is selected, he or she will be included in a feature story in PPB’s November issue. Click here to nominate. All nominees must be employed by a PPAI member company and previous winners cannot be honored again.

I would like to submit Josh Gruettner. I know the posting deadline is closed (hopefully there is another around the corner), but Josh is too great of a partner not to submit. Josh is the definition of a service super hero! In the multiple years I have worked with him, he has never complained about an impossible deadline, ridiculous request or insane demand. He is full of a seemingly unending supply of patience and positivity! While the products may be simple in nature, we know that providing a level of customer first service often isn’t. While customer’s are willing to often trade great service for a cheap product, Josh seems to make it his mission to provide both. He finds ways to offer it quicker, faster and for a cheaper price, but then throws on top of that a level of service unparalleled in our industry. His additional offering, to make his customer’s lives easier, comes at the expense of making his own life more difficult. However he takes on that burden with a smile, a solution and a commitment that makes sure the customer is always happy with the product and blown away with the service. He not only takes the time to sort out the details to make sure things are perfect, he also invests and imparts his knowledge on his customer’s so they better understand what they are ordering and are able to make sure they are getting exactly what they need. His approach to customer satisfaction is one I thought long lost in the day of text messages and kiosks, one with a personal touch and a passion to help!

Having been in this business for over 35 years, it's hard to pick only one superhero, but the person who instantly pops up is Christine Ruiz from Evans Mfg. This girl is a Wonder Woman! "No" does not exist in her vocabulary. She is fast & friendly & always has a solution with challenging orders. Gets orders out on time & frequently sooner than promised. Knows Evans products inside & out. Understands the "sense of urgency, fear of loss" factor. Don't know what we would do without her. On a scale of 1-5, she's a 50!

I'm happy to say that it's hard to pick just one, but I'd like to nominate Nick Augustine from ADG Promotional Products. He is friendly, responsive, and very helpful. He always takes care of things for us. Because I think this is important, I want to leave a second choice, but I can't pick just one from SanMar. I'd like to nominate the whole company as a shining example of a corporate culture of stellar customer service. No matter who I get on the phone, they are all friendly and helpful. They have earned their way to being my top apparel provider - and I've sold apparel for 26 years so I know my other choices! They always, always take care of us and our business needs with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.

I would like to nominate Alena Yuhl from Sanmar. She is always there to help me and her responses are so quick. She always makes sure that someone from her team is taking care of things if she is out of the office. I really cannot think of anyone that is as helpful and on top of things like Alena is.
