The 2016 PPAI Product Responsibility Summit attendees can tailor their experience through a series of break-out sessions, pursuing subjects most important to their needs and the needs of their companies. One such session, Lithium-ion: Dangerous Secrets, explores the critical need for safety and certification when sourcing lithium-ion batteries, and staying on the right side of compliance with Rick Brenner, MAS+, CEO of Logical Advisors and immediate past chair of the PPAI Board, and John Copeland, co-owner of cell and battery test laboratory Energy Assurance.

The 2016 Summit is the sixth year Brenner has co-chaired the Product Responsibility Summit along with Gene Geiger, MAS+, CEO of distributor Geiger. An 18-year industry veteran, Brenner served as president and CEO of supplier Prime Resources before founding Logical Advisors. A founder of the Quality Certification Alliance (QCA), he is also a member of QCA’s governance committee and served for seven years as chair of its compliance committee. Brenner is also the president elect of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization.

Copeland's background includes serving in a number of positions in quality engineering, reliability engineering, failure analysis, project management, supplier assessment, and quality management in the electronics and portable energy sectors. He holds a BSEE from Auburn University, MSQA from Southern Polytechnic State University and is trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt.

The 2016 Summit, to be held September 18-20 in National Harbor, Maryland, brings together the experts and expertise to highlight the importance of product responsibility in today’s economy and how it can differentiate businesses from their competition and keep them on the right side of the law.

The Summit includes two days of education featuring distinguished speakers, industry thought leaders and representatives from product safety labs and product certification groups. All Summit attendees will also receive a binder containing a wealth of information including best practices, protocols and resource materials based on the five pillars of compliance. Seating is limited but space is still available, so register today to secure a spot.
