July16_VOM-400[6]This month, PPAI recognizes Phil Martin, national sales manager at supplier Warwick Publishing Company (UPIC: WARWICK) in Saint Charles, Illinois, as July’s PPB Volunteer of the Month. Martin serves as chair of the Awards & Recognition Committee and was nominated by Steven Meyer, vice president of sales at supplier RiteLine, LLC (UPIC: RiteLine) and member of the Awards & Recognition Committee.

The Association’s PPB Volunteer of the Month recognition celebrates individuals who have dedicated their time to fulfilling the charge of a committee, advisory group, work group or task force on which they serve.

“Phil takes on all the challenges and does it always with a smile and a winning attitude,” says Meyer. “He does a great job at the awards presentation and reception at the PPAI Expo and manages the committee with a fun, yet let’s-get-things-done manner. He has great personal skills and makes it fun to be involved.

“Phil has shown great skill in managing the evolving changes with the current awards structure. Although there haven't been core changes in several years, Phil has championed the idea brought forth by another committee member and worked with staff to bring the idea from a concept to an actual event. In doing so, he has been flexible, collaborative and a constant champion of bringing change and positive results to an event that everyone seems to have opinions about. Kudos to Phil for making this committee want to move forward!”

The Awards & Recognition Committee reviews all recognition categories to determine relevance in the changing marketplace, makes recommendations for revisions, updates and additions to PPAI award categories, content, eligibility and judging criteria on an annual basis. New awards and recognition concepts recommended by other committees, advisory groups, task forces or members are reviewed on a collaborative basis.

The PPAI Awards and Recognition Program celebrates creative excellence throughout the promotional products industry. With awards recognizing everything from Distinguished Service and Hall of Fame careers to great websites, outstanding customer service and everything in between, PPAI award winners embody excellence.
