PPAI’s Barnett Hit The Road To Speak On Millennial Issues

PPAI Diversity Development and Engagement Manager Seth Barnett was on the road in May, joining the Arizona Promotional Products Association (AzPPA) and a meeting of the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) Space Coast Chapter, to speak on Millennials and the Millennial market.

At an education day hosted by AzPPA in Scottsdale, Arizona, Barnett spoke on Millennial consumerism and the management of Millennial customers, and moderated a panel with industry and non-industry young professionals. In Melbourne, Florida, he presented at an event attended by advertising, sales and communications professionals working within Florida’s Space Coast region, and Barnett spoke to them on addressing the nuances of the Millennial market.

Joining the AAF Space Coast Chapter, Barnett spoke on brands that uniquely stand out among Millennial consumers and the reasons for their success, and as part of a group discussion, shared advertising and marketing-specific best practices for Millennial communication.

 

PAPPA Incorporates Promotional Products Into Geocache Adventure

Members of the Philadelphia Area Promotional Products Association (PAPPA) went on a geocaching adventure at the Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, Pennsylvania, in April, using GPS devices to search for hiking-related promotional products.

PAPPA’s member event drew 25 attendees and 15 product sponsors, including APPI Sales, Chocolate Inn, Crown Products, Curto Toy, Hit Promotional Products, Leed’s, Moderne Glass, Montco Advertising, MVP Promos, Storm Duds, PAPPA, RAM Associates, Rockland Embroidery, Sanmar and Tekweld.

Attendees divided into small groups and headed out to locate products hidden throughout the grounds of the mountain resort. The event wrapped with a group lunch.

 


PPAI Board Visits Texas For Strategic Discussion And Board Meeting

The PPAI Board, staff directors and executives met at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Irving, Texas, in May for a scheduled strategic plan discussion facilitated by board member Larry Cohen, president of Axis Promotions, and Ashley Wilemon and Amy Blackburn, both of Saxum, PPAI’s public relations firm.

The meeting also included a review of marketing trends expected to have an impact on business, and a discussion on PPAI’s 2017 goal relating to strategic foresight. That evening, the group was joined by almost a dozen invited local members for a private dinner and guided tour at Dallas’ Sixth Floor Museum, which commemorates the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas.

HPPA Hosts Busy Spring Schedule

The Houston Promotional Products Association (HPPA) had an active spring, hosting shows, events and other activities for its members. The regional association’s programming included the presentation of its 2016 awards at a member meeting in March, the annual Cool Stuff Show in April, and a crawfish boil for members in May.

HPPA’s Cool Stuff Show was held at the Crown Plaza NW Houston. Participation was up this year for the members-only event; the end buyer-friendly show drew 300 attendees and 55 supplier representatives.
