The Department of Labor (DOL) rule changes governing overtime exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act are set to take effect on December 1, 2016. Key elements to the new regulation include a salary threshold change from $455 to $913 per week and automatic salary threshold increases every three years to be maintained at the 40th percentile in the lowest-wage census region. PPB Newslink June 7: Promotional Products Sales Hit Record $20.8 Billion In 2015

U.S. promotional products sales reached a record $20.8 billion in 2015, continuing an upward trend that began in 2010, following a decline in 2009. PPAI’s 2015 Annual Estimate of Distributor Sales reports growth of 3.82 percent in 2015, up from 2014’s more modest 1.09 percent, and shows evidence of a widening gap between small and large distributors. PPB Newslink May 19: Overtime Rule Changes Raise Concerns Among Businesses

The Department of Labor (DOL) issued a rule change on Wednesday that allows full-time, salaried employees to earn overtime if they make up to $47,476 a year. The rule change, which was first announced in a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Federal Register on July 6, 2015, goes into effect December 1 and is expected to extend overtime pay protections to more than four million workers.
