EPA Explores Regulations For Nanoscale Materials

Since 2005, more than 1,600 consumer products containing nanoscale materials have been introduced into the market. The list, compiled by the Virginia Tech Center for Sustainable Nanotechnology, includes electronics, food storage, toys and games, clothing, cosmetics, sunscreen, paint and other items. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed new reporting and recordkeeping requirements for certain chemical substances when they are manufactured or processed at the nanoscale.
