PPAI Names 2016 Board Candidates

Four candidates have been selected for election to PPAI’s Board of Directors Class of 2020. Distributor candidates are Dan McEntee, area vice president, special orders, at Staples Promotional Products (UPIC: AMER0016), and Perry Wehrle, president of PAW Marketing, Inc. (UPIC: PAW). Most Sales And Marketing Departments Out Of Sync On Customer Engagement Strategies

Most sales and marketing departments aren’t aligned around businesses’ customer engagement strategies, according to customer acquisition management agency Televerde. The company’s findings, drawn from a survey of sales and marketing leadership in April and May 2015, show that 61 percent sales and marketing departments are not acting cohesively, confusing the handoff of customers and potential customers from one to another. Polish Survey Reveals Increase In Promotional Products Spending

The Polish Chamber of Promotional Goods (Polska Izba Artykułów Promocyjnych, or PIAP) has published the results of its fourth annual study of promotional products, which found that 42.5 percent of respondents report an increase in marketing expenditures compared to the previous year, with more of those funds being spent on promotional products. Taylor Corporation Acquires Standard Register

Dayton, Ohio-based distributor Standard Register (UPIC: SF00001) has been acquired by print and marketing solution provider Taylor Corporation. The acquisition is the result of Taylor Corp.’s successful bid for the distributor through a bankruptcy action held last week. Final approval of the sale is subject to resolution of outstanding objections before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Delaware. Pending that approval, the parties expect to complete the transaction within 45 to 60 days. Read More »

Social Media, Internet Fuel Consumers’ Expectations

Businesses are feeling the effects of rising consumer expectations, reports social customer experience management software provider Lithium Technologies. Drawing on a survey conducted on its behalf by Harris Poll in April and May of more than 300 corporate executives working at companies with revenues in excess of $1 billion, the company found that consumers’ expectations of businesses are rising and they happy to tell them when they’re not met.
