Service Sector Shows Sustained Growth In Markit Survey

The U.S. service sector continued to grow in April, although not at the pace observed in March, a seven-month high. Financial data firm Markit’s Flash U.S. Services PMI Business Activity Index slipped to 57.8 in April, from 59.2 in March. While down, April’s figure is still well above the neutral 50.0 figure and points to faster expansion in the sector than the 55.9 average observed by Markit since late 2009. Read More »
