When Laurie Hollinger, director of account services for Minneapolis, Minnesota-based distributor Mosquito (UPIC: WEAR9522), needed a singularly exceptional custom award for a client, she called long-time partner Mike Irvine, vice president of operations for supplier Crystal D (UPIC: CRYSTALD) in nearby St. Paul. Back and forth they discussed ideas for a design that would impress Hollinger’s client, but they could not hit on the right idea. So Laurie brought her son’s building blocks to Irvine’s office and the two started assembling different shapes until they created a couple of ideas they thought would work.
