Pennsylvania Congressman Tim Murphy Named PPAI’s Legislator Of The Year

PPAI has named Representative Tim Murphy (R – PA) as the Association’s inaugural Legislator of the Year. The PPAI Legislator of the Year Award recognizes members of Congress who have shown a commitment to small-business interests and success, a willingness to meet with industry professionals and have given their support to issues critical to the promotional products industry.

Nominated by George Jackson, owner of George Jackson Promotions, Inc. (UPIC: GJPRO) and a resident of his district, and chosen by a panel of eight judges, Congressman Murphy has championed the cause of small business and met face-to-face with industry leaders. He has established a history of being available and listening to the concerns of promotional products businesses, and supporting or opposing legislation that impacts the industry.

“Small-businesses and the small-business owner are the face of the promotional products industry,” says PPAI President and CEO Paul Bellantone, CAE. “They face unique challenges that require unique solutions and unwavering advocacy. This award recognizes the work Representative Murphy has put forth on behalf of promotional products businesses and the industry’s continued support of his voice for this vibrant community.”

The PPAI Legislator of the Year Award will be presented during the PPAI Legislative, Education and Action Day (L.E.A.D.) in Washington, D.C. More than 60 advocates from across the country will travel to D.C. on March 7. Congressman Murphy will receive his award in a program for promotional products professionals during L.E.A.D.
