SAAGNY Board Wins Super Bowl Bet With NEPPA Colleagues
Board members of the Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) can look forward to some New England-style clam chowder. They’ve won their meal in a friendly wager with their compatriots at the New England Promotional Products Association (NEPPA) over the outcome of this past weekend’s Super Bowl.
In the bet between the boards of SAAGNY and NEPPA, if the New England Patriots had won, the NEPPA board would enjoy Manhattan clam chowder at their next board meeting, courtesy of SAAGNY. However, as the New York Giants took the game, 21-17, the SAAGNY board will enjoy New England-style clam chowder provided by NEPPA.
Prior to the game, NEPPA president Hilary Gallagher, said: “Bring on the game! Forget the commercials; I’m looking forward to the clam chowder. I can practically taste it already!” An intuitive Alan Baker, MAS, SAAGNY president, responded: “I have no worries about paying off this wager; everyone knows the Giants are going to win. If Hillary and her board members want Manhattan clam chowder, they’ll have to buy their own. I’m just hoping that maybe she sends a lobster or two along with it.”
