Motivators, Inc. Employees Donate 250 Pounds Of Food To Local Charity

Motivators, Inc. (UPIC: MOTIV8RS) held its fifth annual food drive this year. The Westbury, New York-based distributor donated more than 200 pounds of food to Island Harvest, a hunger relief organization in Long Island, New York.

“The amount of food our staff pulled together to benefit the less fortunate is unbelievable,” says Motivators CEO Ken Laffer, MAS. “Motivators’ participation in the Island Harvest food drive is a tradition we’re extremely proud of, and we’re happy to be able to make a difference, especially during the holidays.”

Company staff came together to help the estimated 283,700 low-income individuals in the Long Island area. And as added incentive, each department competed to see which could gather the most food. In total, 240 pounds of food—consisted of everything from pasta and soup to cake mix and hot cocoa—was collected.

Island Harvest serves as a bridge between those who have extra food and those who don’t have enough. Since 1992, it’s collected surplus food from more than 800 local restaurants, farms, and other food-oriented businesses to be distributed to local food pantries, soup kitchens and more.
