Glen Holt Scholarship Golf Tournament Gets Off To A Strong Start

An influential leader and industry expert, the late Glen Holt, MAS, was also a staunch advocate for education. On August 10, the Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) held the inaugural Glen Holt Scholarship Golf Tournament to honor Holt and support his lasting legacy, the PPEF scholarship named in his honor.

“Education in the industry was so very important to Glen, and he would be extremely pleased to know how many friends and family have paid tribute to him by supporting PPEF,” says Laura Holt, CAS.

The tournament followed the PPAI North American Leadership Conference in Denver, Colorado. Fran Ford, senior vice president at J. Charles Crystalworks, Inc. (UPIC: JCHARLES), organized the event, and a number of industry companies contributed to the tournament. Geiger (UPIC: geiger) sponsored the first and 18th holes, and Dynamic Brands (UPIC: golfbags) sponsored the “Closest to the Pin” award. Other donations to the event came from J. Charles Crystalworks, Ball Pro Promotional Group (UPIC: SPORTS), Chameleon Beverage (UPIC: CHAM0004), LarLu/Display-Tec (UPIC: LARLU) and Spector & Co. (UPIC: SPEC0038).

Holt added, “I’m not a golfer, but I had the privilege of chauffeuring one of the 2012 Hall of Fame Inductees, Bob Davis, CAS, and want to acknowledge his courage for riding in the cart with me. He commented, ‘It was a fun day, for a great person and purpose. I took extra blood pressure medication, and my readings have returned to normal. Next year we’ll request seat belts for our cart.’”
