Breaking News: BDA Acquires Assets Of L.A.-Based Logistix

Woodinville, Washington-based distributor Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, Inc. (BDA) (UPIC: BENS0002) announced this morning that it has entered an agreement to purchase selected assets of Logistix, a Los Angeles, California-based marketing services agency. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

BDA serves Fortune 500 companies with a strong reputation in sports and entertainment merchandising. Through this acquisition, BDA will be able to leverage the mix of consumer products and entertainment technology clients that Logistix served through offices in the U.S., as well as Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China, offices. Logistix also brings expertise in kids’ toy and premium sectors, and consumer packaged goods support capabilities. The acquisition includes key personnel and customer accounts from all three offices.

“Logistix has long been on BDA’s radar as a bulldog competitor that brings a combination of world-class talent and flawless execution,” says Jay Deutsch, CEO and co-founder of BDA. “Their continuous desire to differentiate and the enormous importance they place on creating innovative merchandise campaigns for their global clients make them a perfect addition to our organization.”

Logistix is a subsidiary of EMAK Worldwide, a holding company for four marketing services agencies. EMAK purchased Logistix, originally a London-based company, in 2001 and eventually relocated its services to the U.S. Since then, Logistix has served the niche of promotional products and programs to touch consumers.

“Logistix’s talented team is an ideal fit for BDA’s merchandise-based business and together will continue to provide clients with outstanding and exceptional service within the BDA family,” says Jim Holbrook, CEO of EMAK.

This latest acquisition represents BDA’s third in the past 12 months and follows the company’s earlier acquisition of Evigna, a Michigan-based promotional merchandise distributor, which closed in May 2010.
