Steven Meyer, MAS, vice president of sales for Molenaar LLC and David Hawes, MAS, branch architect for Geiger and chairman of the Upper Midwest Association of Promotional Professionals Government Relations Council, met with Minnesota Third District Congressman, Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.) and Dan Wick, Paulsen’s constituent services representative, on September 13.
“Congressman Paulsen was very engaging, and one of the best listeners I’ve met,” says Hawes. “He welcomed the mutually beneficial partnership we offered and expressed his concern for the future of the small businesses in our industry. He reiterated that very little significant legislation will occur until after the November elections.”
Hawes says he and Meyer focused on developing the foundation for a long-term relationship and that Rep. Paulsen and Wick cooperated in the filming of two videos.
“Steven Meyer’s participation was critical,” Hawes says. “His stature as a regional and national leader increased our credibility and reinforced our commitment to PPAI’s members and their families. I believe we can count on Congressman Paulsen to help our industry.”
