L.E.A.D. Makes An Impact On Participants As Well As Capitol Hill

Nearly 80 promotional products professionals traveled to Washington, D.C., in April for the eighth annual PPAI Legislative Education and Action Day (L.E.A.D.). The group included first-timers and L.E.A.D. veterans representing 20 states, five regional associations and almost every aspect of the promotional products industry.

Nancy Jolly and Steven Meyer (right) met with Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX).

Thank you for your leadership. Being a first-timer, I enjoyed learning from others and then going out on my own. The professionalism in which this event was put on was second to none. I do feel our efforts fell on welcoming ears. We were not without a challenge or two but we faced them with a prepared response and informative explanations. I was the rookie on the Texas team and was with D’Anna Zimmer, CAS; Steve Meyer and Dana Floyd—all true professionals. I certainly consider myself blessed to have been surrounded with these folks.

This was my first L.E.A.D event, and it was outstanding. Seeing the inner workings of the legislative branch of government, and being able to effect change, has given me a profound feeling of hope. Thank you, PPAI.

It was an honor to represent our industry in D.C. Thank you for a very well-organized event. It is amazing what was accomplished in two days, but I know preparation was the key.
