PPAI Diversity Development and Engagement Manager Seth Barnett spoke at a GAPPP-CAAMP PROMO University event on engaging with and selling to Millennials.

PPAI Diversity Development and Engagement Manager Seth Barnett joined PROMO University—an industry education series produced collaboratively by the Georgia Association of Promotional Products Professionals (GAPPP) and the Carolinas Association of Advertising and Marketing Professionals (CAAMP)—earlier this month to speak on engaging with and selling to Millennials. The July 7 event was held at Greenville, South Carolina’s TD Convention Center.

Barnett’s time at PROMO University was divided into two sessions, “Millennials: Attract, Engage, Retain” and “The Professional Life of a Millennial: Selling to a New Market,” split by a lunch and roundtable discussions.

PROMO University opened with Barnett speaking on identifying emerging talent so that businesses can properly recruit and train younger employees. At 53.5 million, Millennials are now the largest generation in the U.S. workforce. In his session “Millennials: Attract, Engage, Retain,” Barnett shared insights and best practices from leaders in the industry on how they’ve brought Millennials into their organizations and how they have affected their companies.

After lunch, Barnett’s “The Professional Life of a Millennial: Selling to a New Market” focused on how Millennials operate within the economy. Drawing from research in neuroscience, economics and demographics, Barnett spoke on the value of the Millennial market and what it can do for promotional products businesses.
